Annotation:[Wedelia frutescens Jacq. 1763 seemingly best taken as nomenclaturally independent, albeit taxonomically the same as Wedelia fructicosa. jp-2004]— [spelling in diagnosis is fructicosa and so corrected, pmj-2011] IPNI Remarks: "Jacquin's epithet "fructicosa" does[n']t exist as a Latin term and is treated as a typographical error for "fruticosa" (= shrub)". Note, however, that "fructuosa" (=fruitful) is oten used as an epithet and that this meaning could theoretically have been intended [gd-2016].
