Ecology: High montane cloud forest and shrubby páramo and puna; epiphytic, on trunks and branches of treelets and shrubs. Elevation: 2930-3700 m (Venezuela: 2930-3700 m, Ecuador: ? m, Bolivia: 2950-3440 m). Distribution: Endemic to the tropical Andes.
Ecología: Bosque nublado montano alto, páramo arbustivo y puna; epífita, sobre troncos y ramas de arbolillos y arbustos. Elevación: 2930-3700 m (Venezuela: 2930-3700 m, Ecuador: ? m, Bolivia: 2950-3440 m). Distribución: Andes Tropicales.
Acroporium esmeraldicum is distinguished by its large size, piliferous leaf tips and strongly angled alar cells. This species is found at higher elevations than the other two species.
Acroporium esmeraldicum se distingue por los extremos de sus hoja pilíferos, grandes y células alares marcadamente anguladas. Esta especie se encuentra a mayores elevaciones que las otras dos especie.
