Ecology: Open submontane (possibly Chiquitano vegetation); on soil or possibly rocks. Elevation: 1800 m. Distribution: In the tropical Andes only known from the sub-Andean range of Bolivia; southeastern Brazil.

Campylopus julaceus is characterized by the julaceous foliate stems, oblong-apiculate and hyaline tips, costa notably broad, lamellose on back, rather well differenitaed hyaline and thin-walled basal cells and upper short and thick-walled cells. This species is only known from a single locality, Quebrada Cunucu (Department of Santa Cruz, Bolivia).
Campylopus julaceus se caracteriza por los tallos con hojas juláceas, oblongo-apiculadas y con extremos hialinos, costa notablemente ancha, lamelada en el envés, células basales hialinas muy bien diferenciadas con paredes delgadas y células superiores cortascon paredes gruesas.
