Campylopus anderssonii is among the moderately large species of the genus with leaves to ca. 10 mm long, distal margins serrate, ventral hyalocysts, thick-walled upper cells, weak to distinct porose thick-walled basal cells, at the margin longer but not forming a distinct border, and well developed enlarged alar cells. Synonyms include Campylopus fulvus Herzog, C. longisubulatus Thér. and C. subincacorralis Thér.
