Camptodontium fallax is characterized by weakly vertically striate, possibly papillose peristome. Originally described as Dicranoweisia fallax Herzog, this species is based on syntypes from Tunarisee (department of Cochabamba) and between Hochtal and Viloco (department of La Paz). Syntypes: Bolivia. An Felsblöcken beimTunarisee, ca. 4400 m, Herzog 4800; an Felsblöcken im Hochtal von Viloco, ca. 4400 m, Herzog 3134.
Camptodontium fallax se caracterizapor presentar peristoma con estrías verticales débiles y posiblemente papiloso. Originalmente fue descrita comoDicranoweisia fallax Herzog, esta especie está basada en sintipos de Tunarisee (departamento de Cochabamba) y entre Hochtal y Viloco (departamento de La Paz).
