Ecology: Dry inter-Andean valleys at least in Bolivia and probably dry montane forest; on soil. Elevation: 1000-2600 m (Peru 1000-2050 m, Bolivia 1540-2600 m). Distribution: Endemic to the tropical Andes (Peru and Bolivia).
Bryum spininervium is a large plant with oblong leaves, broad acute-rounded apex, recurved and unbordered margins, and rather long excurrent costa. The irregular dentate toothed upper leaf margins are notable.
