Ecology: High montane forest to shrubby páramo; on branches of trees. Elevation: 3000 m elevation. Distribution: Central America (Costa Rica, Guatemala), Colombia and southeast Brazil.
Status of this taxon requires further investigation. Ochi (1980) compares this species with B. systylium. Brachymenium morasicum is characterized by the oblong-obovate or oblong-lingulate leaves, border absent above, present at midleaf and below with 1-2 cells, and the costa short excurrent.
