Isodrepanium is monotypic, confined to the Neotropics. Sporophytes not observed in the Tropical Andes; based on Florschütz-de Waard (1986). This genus is only likely to be confused with some members of Lepidopilum exhibiting sigmoid leaves, but that genus lacks the small, thickened 4-5 rows of stem cells, and strongly porose median and distal leaf cells that are found in Isodrepanium.
