Notes:
A monotypic genus confined to the Neotropics. Hemiragis is characterized by the large tufted plants, crowded, falcate, narrowly lanceolate strongly plicate leaves, with plicae obscuring the long parallel double costae, the strongly porose, linear laminal cells, a furrowed exostome finely striate below, papillose above, and high endostomial basal membrane.
 
Hemiragis es un género monotípico confinado al Neotrópico, está caracterizado por plantas en manojos grandes, hojas apretadas, falcadas, angostamente lanceoladas fuertemente plicadas, con pliegues que cubren la costa doble larga y paralela, las células de la lámina lineares, fuertemente porosas, un exostoma surcado, finamente estriado abajo, papiloso arriba, y membrana basal del endostoma alta.
