Notas:
A monospecific genus confined to the neotropical lowlands, primarily from the northern and western Amazon basin. Colobodontium is distinguished by the broadly oval to obovate leaves, erect to suberect capsules, broad based and abruptly narrowed and distally papillose exostome teeth, nearly absent basal membrane with rudimentary or filiform segments.
 
Este es un género monotípico restringido a las tierras bajas neotropicales, principalmente del norte y del oeste de la cuenca amazónica. Colobodontium se distingue por las hojas anchamente ovales a obovadas, cápsulas erectas a suberectas, dientes del exostoma de base ancha , abruptamente angostos y papilosos distalmente, membrana basal casi ausente con segmentos rudimentarios o filiformes.
