1. Pastinaca sativa L., Sp. Pl. 262 (1753). Lectotipo (designado por Sell en Jarvis et al., 1993): Herb. Clifford 105, Pastinaca 1 (BM). Ilustr.: Yatskievych., Steyermark's Fl. Missouri 2: 97, t. 210g-h (2006).

Plantas 30-100 cm, perennes, erectas, puberulentas o glabrescentes. Hojas 15-25 × 10-15 cm, oblongas a ovadas, simplemente pinnadas, la base cordata; folíolos 5-10 × 2.5-8 cm, oblongos a ovados, gruesamente serrados y lobados a pinnatífidos; pecíolos 1-3 cm, las vainas de las hojas caulinares visiblemente extendidas. Pedúnculos 7-l5 cm; radios 15-25, 2-10 cm, desiguales; pedicelos 5-10 mm. Pétalos amarillos u ocasionalmente rojizos. Frutos 5-6 × 4-5 mm. Cultivada. Ch ( Breedlove 39767, UC). 2100-2300 m. (Nativa de Europa y O. de Asia; ampliamente cultivada e introducida en otras partes.)
